AWFUL & Scary Monday!
So I called a call from Sean on Monday that I have been dreading this whole time he has been deployed (33 days). My phone rang at 9:30 and I thought it was weird that he was calling because he never calls at that time because it's around 6:30am his time. He didn't say hello or hey or anything he just said " If you hear anything I am okay." To which I started freaking out and asking him what was wrong. His truck that he was riding in hit an IED (An improvised explosive device (IED) is a bomb constructed and deployed in ways other than in conventional military action. IEDs are often placed on the curb of roads so as to be detonated when vehicles or pedestrians pass by). It took me a few minutes to realize what he was talking about. Once I did I started asking a million questions. He kept saying over and over again he was okay. He hit his head and has some bruises and scratches, but other than that he was okay. The gunner hurt his hand and had shrapnel in his arms. That was the worst injury. I of course FREAKED out. I really haven't cried much since Sean has left, but let me tell you THE FLOOD GATES OPENED! I was just so scared for him! I can't imagine what's its like to run over a bomb and how disorienting and frightening that must be. He said it scared him but he remained calm and made sure everyone else was okay and called for help. I am just so thankful that Sean and everyone with him are okay. I definitely said about 100 thank you prayers and prayed like a mad woman that this was the last phone call I receive about bombs! I also told Sean he used up his one time with bombs, so he better knock it off from this point forward! He went to the doctor yesterday to get checked out for the 3rd time and make sure he didn't have a brain bleed and he got a clean bill of health. He actually went back on a mission tonight. Everyone please say a few prayers for Sean, as well as everyone else over there!

OH MY! I am so glad he is ok. I'll keep praying. In the meantime you can keep busy with the letter "S".
I'm so thankful Sean is okay. You know you both are in my thoughts everyday. Oh, and I'm so ready to see your list!! :)
Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. I appreciate them, and obviously, they are working.
Sonya, I tried to call you tonight, and got your voicemail. I went to call back and was interupted by those sirens I have told you about. Ridiculous. I will try to call again tomorrow. I love and miss you.
Sean I'm so thankful you're okay! Please don't scare us like that anymore!! And like Sonya said, you used up your "bomb" call, so try something a little less frightening, like you ran over a chipmunk. Thanks!
