Jagged Little Pill

I've had a bad week. When I went to the doctor last month, he put me on a new medicine. I had actually started to feel alot better and my stomach was semi-normal. Well the medicine is very bad for your liver, so your only supposed to be on it for 5 weeks. Last week was the end of my 5 weeks, and since then I have been VERY sick. Not only has my stomach been AWFUL, but I've also been having HORRIBLE migraines. So I have not been in the best mood. I called my doctor and he decided to put me back on the medicine for a month. He said it SHOULDN'T damage my liver being on it an extra 4 weeks. I went to the pharmacy today to pick up my prescription and the pill bottle is HUGE! I have to take 8 pills a day for 30 days, which equals 240 pills in a month. The bottle barely fits in my purse!! I had to take pictures because I couldn't get over the size of the bottle!! Pill bottle.....doesnt look that big here...see below!
My pill bottle beside a normal bottle.

Bella

Isabella hurt her paw on Sunday. I looked at it and didn't see any obvious problems, so I figured she would be fine on Monday. Come Monday, her paw was swollen and was wasn't using it at all! When she would try to go to the bathroom she couldn't keep her balance and would roll over. She couldn't go up or down the stairs and when she tried she would head dive. It was so pitiful watching her! So I took her to the vet Monday afternoon. They examined her and said they couldn't decide if her foot was broken or sprained. The vet gave her medicine to reduce the swelling and to take the pain away. She said if Bella was still limping on Wednesday, then to bring her back and they would sedate her and take xray's of her foot. As of tonight, she is still limping and it looks like we will be going to the vet again tomorrow. She is soooo sad!

Girls weekend!

I had the best weekend, well the best weekend I have had in a long time. Allison and I left work early and drove to Birmingham for the night. We stayed at the Sheraton, which is a 4 star hotel and sooooo nice! I got it on Priceline for $70. That's right, I'm a Priceline negotiator!! We took a cab and went and watched one of our favorite bands play. We had a really fun night. We came home Saturday around 1. My friend Kristen is getting married October 17, so I had a shower for her Saturday night. We had about 9 ladies come and we all had a really good time. Kristen got very nice gifts and it was a fun girls night. After the shower we went to a local bar and play darts until 1. I will post pictures soon!!

Slumber Party

It was Jen and Josh's anniversary this weekend, so Lily stayed the night with me. We rented some movies( Ariel and Horton Hears a Who) and watched them Saturday night. I bought Lily a picnic basket for her birthday and had promised to take her to the park next time I watched her. We woke up early Sunday (7AM!!!) and went to get some grocery's for our picnic in the park. We got lunchables, princess gummy snacks, grapes, and of course chocolate donuts for dessert. We went to the big park in Montgomery and had a picnic. I was mean and made Lily eat her all her lunchable before she could play. We stayed and played for about two hours. We decided to leave because it was HOT and both out faces were VERY red. I will post the pictures tomorrow, I left my camera cord at work.

Health update

I went to Birmingham last Wednesday to meet with my new GI doctor. I REALLY like him! He sat and talked to me for 20 minutes and we went over all my symptoms and all the tests I have had. He said he was pretty sure I had inflammatory bowel disease, but he couldn't decide if it was Chron's or ulcerative colitis. He is treating me for ulcerative colitis. I have a VERY LONG list of food and drinks to avoid, and I have to take a pill in the morning and afternoon. I also had to go to the lab and give blood. He wants to rule out being allergic to wheat and a few other things. In 5 weeks I go back after my blood work is in and he has reviewed all my history. He said they are going to put me to sleep and put a tube down my throat and go into my stomach and intestines that way. Not very excited about having inflammatory bowel disease, but am VERY excited to finally have some answers and a WONDERFUL doctor!!

That's Staff Segeant to you!!

Sean was promoted to Staff Sergeant on the 1st. He was very excited! He know gets paid for a job he was already doing. The only down side is he is VERY busy and we don't talk as much. Only 4 and a half months until he comes home! Very exciting!

NCO OF THE WEEK

Sean was NOC of the week. Here is what the email said:
SGT Cox is a 21B from Lewistown, IL. He is the Squad Leader for 2nd Squad, 3rd PLT, 511TH EN CO. He is selected by the soldiers and NCO's of the platoon as their NCO of the week because of his outstanding leadership abilities and dedication to mission accomplishment. SGT Cox recently became a member of 3rd Platoon, bringing his positive attitude and willingness to teach others. His new ideas and leadership style have quickly brought about several positive changes to an already outstanding platoon. On a daily basis SGT Cox works hard to better himself and his Solders.

Sean update!!!

Sorry that it has taken me so long to update. It seems like all I do it work, play softball, or study. It is actually 10:45pm right now and it's been the only time I have had time to update. I will try and get into some routine and update once a week. Key word is TRY! Sean's main complaints have been it is HOT...normally around 110 and he is exhausted. He hasn't had a day off in over a month. Sean got moved to a new squad. He is doing the job of a staff sergeant, he just isn't getting paid for it! He finds out around the 20th if he gets officially promoted. Hopefully he will, so he gets paid for the job he is already doing. I wanted to thank everyone for all the letters, cards, and care packages you have sent Sean. He and I both appreciate it! He did have a few new requests for items in his care packages. Baby wipes refills, phone cards (Target has the best deals and normally has them on sale for half price), magazines, energy drinks, air fresheners, and air in a can. Prayers and positive thought are also welcomed!! :)

Softball

I decided to join a co ed softball team. Kristen and Jennifer also joined with me. We have games every Monday and Thursday night. We also practice on Sunday. We have had three games and have lost every single one! We haven't just lost by a run or two, we have lost all three games by the 10 run rule. I am not good at losing...I'm what you would call a bad sport. I actually have done really good. Maybe I will get someone to take some pictures so I have proof that I actually am playing!!!

Hotel Solamar

We stayed at the Hotel Solamar in San Diego. It was wonderful!! I got the best deal on Priceline. The hotel is four stars and is normally 250 a night. I got the hotel for 85 a night!! Here are some pictures of the hotel.

San Diego Zoo

We loved the San Diego Zoo, it was by far the best zoo we have been to. It took us about 8 hours to see all the animals. Yes we did see animals, but I didn't feel like posting those pictures. Here are some funny from the zoo!

Busy Busy Busy

I know I have really sucked at blogging lately! You have no idea how busy I have been! Sean came home on the 18th. We left for San Diego on the 22nd and came home on the 27th. Then we came home slept and left for Illinois and stayed until the 31st. So saying we were busy is an understatement!! Sean left for Iraq on the 4th. Once he got there he got very sick with a stomach virus. He is finally feeling better and is back to work. I will add a few of my favorite pictures from our adventures!
